Tagg's figuring out how to crawl... or is he figuring out how to do a pushup?... Anyway, here's him doing the elephant walk, and then deciding that hands and knees might be a little more effective than hands and toes :)
* He snorts when he laughs * He describes any slapping sound (like flip flops on the floor) with the word "Pop!" * He is very particular about his music; right now, he loves the Star Wars version of the alphabet song, or the alphabet song set to certain instrumental swing jazz music :) * He has learned the phrase "No, Please!" and uses it all the time... like when we're about to do something he'd rather us not do, or when Brigham is about to take a toy from him, or when he thinks I'm about to take him somewhere he doesn't want to go, or when I sit down at the computer ;) etc... He's so polite about it that turns out to be quite an effective thing for a little dude to say! * He is the best climber ever! He is getting crazy good at climbing up the ladders at the playground (astonishing video soon to be posted) * He is chivalrous: He encourages little girls to go down the slide at the playground before he does and always makes sure they are "crun" (coming) with him before leaving the spot where they were previously playing. He also shrugs one shoulder and tilts his head toward that shoulder when approached by a tiny lady... With Jed and I as his parents, the kid was bound to become a flirt-- we just didn't know it would happen so delightfully soon! :)

I Got a Good Man!
Jed took over the Taggert's care for a whole day after church a couple weeks ago so I could spend 7 HOURS blogging! I was insurmountably behind, but Jed even made me dinner, allowing me to hole up and catch up! Sigh--what a nice guy! * I got really frustrated tonight when dinner turned out to be a disaster :( and Jed immediately came over, stood behind me, and put his arm around me as he said, with his head close to mine, "What can I do to help?" He proceeded to think of something else we could have for dinner and went to the store to get the ingredients we needed, even though his friend was on his way over to watch a much-anticipated soccer game. Sigh. Could I ask for more than that? :) Love him! * My back was really hurting for some reason yesterday. It was so stinkin sweet--I had just put Taggert down for a nap, and Jed and I were walking down the stairs, holding hands. Then, unannounced, Jed swept me off my feet and carried me down to the couch so my back wouldn't hurt walking down the stairs. !!!! * Jed made my Mother's Day wonderful by surprising me with a homemade FEAST on Saturday, then by making me both lunch and dinner on Sunday, as well as facilitating a 2 hour nap after church! He is very good at showing me that he loves me! And I love it! * On Easter, I made this really involved dinner (by that I mean a ham plus some side dishes, which side dishes hardly ever happen during my dinners unless we have company over ;) and after I put Taggert to bed, I was greeted with a VERY messy kitchen to clean and a very meat-filled ham bone to clean. Jed's response: "Would you like me to read to you while you put the food away and then come help you with the dishes? Or would you like me to just help with everything? Or would you like me to read to you while you do the dishes and put the food away?" :) :) :) :) :) I chose the last option. Jed does Awesome voices for the characters in Harry Potter, and it's actually so much fun to clean the kitchen (or make baby sleeping bags, or iron shirts, or make dinner :) while he's reading to me! * Jed has just turned his thoughtfulness up a few notches lately, and I am basking in it! He just thinks of what I might need or want to hear or do and provides it! He notices my moods and expressions, and he asks me about them! * Watching the ridiculous and horrible season finale of the Bachelor last night made me extra extra appreciative of my sweet hubby! So, here goes! Jed came with us to a community event (which isn't exactly his idea of a good time :) just to spend time with me! And not oly did he come, but he found things to enjoy about it! And he helps with the dishes! And I love how flexible and thoughtful he is! He spent about an hour the other day just helping me work through a problem I'm having--he is a really good friend, which is an easy thing to stop being once you're also a spouse. * I just love how easy it is for Jed and I to find things to talk about. There are precious few people (besides my family) that I consistently have effortless, meaningful conversation with, and from the very beginning, Jed has been one of them!
I am spending my days (and nights :) doing what I've wanted to do since I was a girl--I stay at home as a wife and mother! Jed an I have three children, my step-daughter Gabi (13), and Taggert (6) & Reece (3). Our little family is a team and we enjoy each new day together! Life is good!!
