The Mama

I love April Fool's Day! Last year we invited Glenn, Angie & Aiden over for dinner and I made them:
  • Dinner: Meatloaf birthday cake with colored mashed potato frosting and a box of candy (candy replaced with peas!)
  • Dessert: Spaghetti (Cupcake with frosting squeezed over it like noodles and pureed strawberries with green sprinkle flakes for the sauce and Milk Dud meatballs!
  • Drink: Pee and Poop. (A mini tootsie roll molded accordingly and placed into a cup of lemonade) That one wasn't yummy AT ALL, oops. But it looked nasty, which was the point.
Mom took Alanna and me to dinner and a MAROON 5 CONCERT!!! I saw them for like five bucks at UVSC when I was in college and now they're huge, so it was so awesome to see them again! The opening act was OneRepublic--Opening act, what?!
But anyway, Alanna and I wanted to stand up when they were playing, even though they were just opening--because it's ONEREPUBLIC!
So because not many people were standing and we were in the second to last row, we asked the people behind us if they wanted to switch with us since we were going to stand up. I thought that was super nice!
They said no, they liked their seats. So we stood up like we said we were about to. And then the guy told Alanna and me to sit down during their set and wouldn't leave us alone about it! He got pretty rude and even tried to get us to go to different seats in the back row away from Mom so we wouldn't be in their way. What?!
So Alanna went and made sure with the security guard that we weren't in the wrong. His response was "Uh, you're at a concert. Of course you can stand up." And he then told the guy that he needed to get off our backs.
Obviously everyone shot to their feet when Maroon 5 took the stage... except that couple behind us. And they even left early! What a weird way to interact with people. Oh well, at least I had an interesting story to write on my blog that's actually about me. ;)
From top-right to bottom-left, skipping the self-explanatory ones:
Me holding Reece in the sling--I love how cuddly these kiddos are!
Tagg in his classic after milk stretch pose :)
In Reecey's room
Tagg and me on a little random hike up a mountain in Arizona when we were on our way home from some errand... The time you have with the first to do random stuff is pretty special. I cherish that bit of life.
One of the first pictures of me and my boy. Thanks for taking this, Mom!
My wedding dress, craigslist pictures. I ended up leaving it in our Arizona house when we moved. I wonder what ever happened to it.
I love trees--Just think they're amazing!
Went blonde again last Valentine's day for Jed as a surprise :) But I'm brown now again, because my hair grows way to fast to keep up with the coloring... and by that I mean it grows way too fast to want to keep up with the coloring :)
I made this invitation for a church activity and got a lot of compliments on it! I was excited that it turned out so well! :)
