Adoring the Daddy

This is one boy who adores his Daddy. This picture was taken on the plane on the way to Texas. While we were there, Tagg got sick for the first time in his life. He had a temperature of 102.2 and we took him to the urgent care, where the nicest doctor ever diagnosed him with a long-named virus and prescribed Tylenol & Motrin for his fever but nothing but time for the red and white sores in his throat. He was a pretty darn happy sick boy, but nighttime was not the best time. One time, Jed was working till 11pm and Taggert just started screaming and arching his back--he wouldn't let me feed him or even hold him. Nancy and I tried everything to help him, but the only thing that worked was just to put him down in the crib--and that didn't work right away... I could tell right after putting him down that he was taking more time to breathe, but he was still screaming for what felt like about 20 minutes. He cried himself to sleep... that was so hard to do. But all the nights Jed was able to be home, he sang Taggert to sleep. I swear Jed is a wizard--he can calm this baby down like magic! The long work days in Texas were tough for me, but I think they took their toll on Taggert too, because one day, Jed stayed home to nurse his exhausted self and Taggert was so calm and happy just being around his Daddy. I don't blame him! :)
