The Fishies

Fascinated with birds one day, Tagg was delighted when I suggested we go find some birdies at Petco! We took a car ride over there, only to find he was actually more delighted with the mice and the fish! (They moved around a lot more :) I had gone to Petco before, to get Brigham a bag of dog food or a Santa hat, but having Taggert there made it a whole new experience! He squealed with joy at the rodents going nuts and "watchin" him from their cages, which made it a happier-than-usual trip. And, he wanted to "help" all the animals "get down" -- he wanted to free them all (hence his concerned expression with the turtles), which made it a sadder/more-enlightening-than-usual trip.

When we came home and relayed our fun stories to Daddy, he suggested we go get a fish for the Tagg! We already had a fishbowl (otherwise known as a vase previously filled with gorgeous flowers celebrating Taggert's birth) and some rocks (otherwise known as hitherto unused decorative candlescape rocks) -- both of which, I might add, were found immediately, due to the extreme organization of our stuff ;) so all that was left to get was the fish!
At Petco, we showed Tagg our two favorite fishes and told him he could pick one of them. He only had eyes for one of them, and when we took her home, he laughed his head off watching her get accustomed to her new environment. His name for her morphed from "In-In" through "Em-In" (short for M&M), and finally rested on "Ammon." Her bowl is on the kitchen counter right next to his high chair, and he has a blast spending mealtimes with her! Thank goodness for the little joys in life! And all the people we share them with!
